This sponsorship is a marketing and community affairs expense. It qualifies as a standard business deduction under regular operating costs. You do not need a tax-exempt status on either side. No. Sponsorships with The Black Santa Houston are marketing and community affairs partnerships between two businesses — not charitable donations. Your investment is fully deductible as a business expense and comes from your marketing, community affairs, or CSR budget. No 501(c)(3) status is required on either side.

Every sponsorship includes brand recognition in the specific program you fund — gallery co-branding, dedicated social media features, BSH website partner listing, and email recognition to our 3,000+ client network. Depending on your sponsorship tier, you may also receive content assets, employee session vouchers, or named presenting sponsor status. Full details are in each program's proposal.

BSH manages all family and recipient selection through our existing client network, community referrals, and partner organizations. For programs like Christmas Goes Pink, survivorship clients on our active waitlist are prioritized. For Wrapped in Wonder family sessions, BSH distributes access through our community outreach. You may also nominate recipients from your own employee or customer base depending on the program.

Each program has its own deadline — September 15th for Wrapped in Wonder and Community Appearances, September 1st for Christmas Goes Pink. These deadlines exist so BSH can confirm session inventory, coordinate logistics, and produce co-branded materials before the season opens. Conversations and agreements can begin at any time before those dates.
